Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (PC)

First off, I dlike to say that I really enjoyed the first Ghost Recon and the 2 xpacs for it. Ghost Recon 2 was cancelled for PC bc the console version just blew ass. Im not too sure this version is anything better.

Mind you all, I just played the demo of this game however, aren't demos of future games supposed to be the highlights and show off the features of the game that will be released? I did not find this to be true at all in this demo.

OK, let me talk about the interface of the game. It was quite easy to set up my dudes with what weapons I wanted them to have for the mission but...what mission was it? Being somewhat strategic and if any of you who know me personally or even read my profile, you will understand what I want in a military game as far as strategic gameplay. i did not get that here. I set my dudes up and THEN got the mission. pfft.

Next step, was an insertion from a helicopter in to some square. They said "go to where we last saw the guy we want you to get". It was myself and 3 other dudes....remember I gave them guns? Anyhow, I set off to complete the mission and no one was near me at all. My team was back in the rear with the gear playing cards and wanting to know when chow was. Ok, that last part was an emelishment but they didnt follow me at all. I had to tell them to follow me. That part I could deal with...a bit. If you are the type of person that likes to micro-manage a team or squad in a game and tell them to stop here and follow you there and suppress over yonder, then this is the game for you. If you are a fan of Battlefield 2 or Call of Duty and jsut want your dudes to support your efforts, then this game should remain at the store and keep the 50 bux in your wallet.
  • I played a whopping 20 minutes of the game and was fed up with it allready. Thus, the replay value score.
  • Graphics are very cool, I will give them that. Very detailed and rich textures.
  • Sound is sound...Im not much of an officianado of sound but I didnt give it a perfect score as the gun sounds werent too realistic.
  • Overall, not the game for me. I will be saving my money and I had high hopes for this game. I suppose I will wait for something else to "ooooh and ahhh" about.
